There's no reason to drive all the way to the Black Forest when I can find everything I need here. Maybe next time, and you can be sure I will go to the Gebr. In the end, I wish I had gotten a small clock, but alas, I didn't. I couldn't stay away and visited each time I was in town. Back to the good things: the store has a lot!! to look at. Triberg is a small city in the Black Forest and is well-known for it's cuckoo clocks (hence the big one). Their pricing is a bit misleading in this, because you will pay a processing fee if you do take it on the plane, and neither processing or shipping is shown in the "savings price" for export. In Triberg, Germany along the B33 road you find the world's tallest (and working) cuckoo clock. So unless you can take the clock on the plane, you will not save the tax/VAT. The pricing for shipping to the US will negate the savings on the VAT. My only items of note: they are a bit pushy to buy, but in time they also are willing to let you look.

The shopkeepers were knowledgeable, and friendly. The other items in the store are varied, and also of high quality.

Their prices are reasonable for the quality. Stern has an excellent, quality collection. I've been to as many clock stores as possible, and seen the clocks in the US Military exchanges.
